What is Family Restructuring Therapy?
Family Restructuring Therapy is an active, therapist-directed process for working with divorced families ranging from the "normal" separated/divorced/never married family who needs to learn new practices and patterns, to the "high-conflict" family whose behaviour patterns have become so maladaptive that the children's well-being is at risk.

Family Restructuring Therapy focuses on protecting the children from conflict and “alienation”; allowing the children to remain as children and have their parents make the major decisions for them; and to heal damaged relationships within the family, especially between a parent and a child.

Family Restructuring Therapy acknowledges the importance of appropriately behaving parents staying meaningfully involved in the upbringing of the children.
